| 8 | Thick slices of Homestyle Bread |
| 4 Tbsp. | Unsalted Butter |
| - | Confectioner's Sugar |
| - | Jam or Pure Maple Syrup |

In a large, shallow bowl, using a fork, beat the eggs until lightly frothy. Stir in the cream and vanilla. |

Place the bread pieced in the bowl. Turn gently until they evely soak up the egg mixture. |

In a large frying pan or griddle over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp of the butter. Add half of the bread pieces and fry until the undersides are golden brown, about 2 minutes. Cut 1 tablespoon of the butter into selveral pieces and add them to the pan, distributing evenly; then flip the bread with a spatula anf fry until the second sides are browned, about 2 minutes longer. Transfer to a warmed platter and keep warm until all are cooked. Repeat with remaining bread and butter. |

Place on warmed individual plates. Using a small fine-mesh sieve, lightly dust the tops with confectioners' sugar. Serve hot with jam or maple syrup alongside. |
