| 4 Cups | Fresh Pears, peeled, cored, diced |
| 2 Cups | Sugar |
| 1 Tsp. | Cinnamon |
| 1/2 Tsp. | Cloves |
| 1/2 Tsp. | Allspice |
| 1/2 Tsp. | Salt |
| 1 Cup | Broken Pecans |
| 3 Cups | Flour |
| 1 1/2 Tsp. | Baking Soda |
| 1/2 Tsp. | Baking Powder |
| 3 | Eggs, beaten |
| 1 Tsp. | Vanilla |
| 1 Cup | Oil |
| 5 Tbsp. | Brown Sugar |
| 5 Tbsp. | Cream |
| 1 Tbsp. | Butter |
| 3/4 Cup | Powdered Sugar |
| 1/2 Tsp. | Vanilla |

Combine pears and pecans in a large bowl. Mix sugar, spices, and salt; pour over pears and pecans. Set aside 1 hour. Stir several times. |

Sift dry ingredients together. Sift second time over pear mixture. Mix in thoroughly. Combine eggs, vanilla, and oil. Blend together. |

Pour over pear mixture, and mix together. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, invert on cookie sheet, turn top up. Glaze* while warm. |

Glaze: In small boiler, combine brown sugar, cream, and butter or margarine. Heat to near boiling point. Remove from heat, stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. |
